Cured by the Valley. Crafted by Tradition.
For over 75 years, Turner Hams has honed a time-honored Virginia tradition – curing country hams in the misty headwaters of the Shenandoah River. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, our hams are slow-aged in fresh mountain air using a 100+ year-old family recipe passed down through four generations. Each ham tells a story of craftsmanship, heritage, and the place we call home.
A Taste of Authenticity, Crafted Over Generations
Made for Entertaining
Unlike the more familiar sweet spiral-cut hams you find in grocery stores, our country hams are hand cured, briny, and full of character – much like fine charcuterie from around the world. It’s a family craft of patience and place that we continue to honor more than 75 years later.

The Distinction of a Turner Ham
An American Classic with European Refinement
Our authentic Virginia hams are hand cured with brown sugar and salt, then slow-aged in the Shenandoah Valley for unmatched flavor. We skip the smoke and let pure mountain air shape the flavor, creating a refined taste that is distinctly Virginia. Unlike the sweet spiral-cut hams common in grocery stores, our hams develop a concentrated and savory flavor that is bold yet balanced with a refined brininess that calls to mind fine European charcuterie. It’s a taste born of patience, tradition, and the Shenandoah Valley itself.
Longer Aging, Deeper Flavor
Our country hams are aged twice as long as most – typically 9-16 months or longer. This extended aging deepens the flavor and imparts an elegant complexity that is both briny and balanced.

A Cure Steeped in Legacy
From a small grocery store founded in 1949 to becoming the Shenandoah Valley’s only country ham producer, our family’s passion for purposeful curing has never wavered. Using our heritage salt and brown sugar cure recipe – passed down in our family since the early 1900s – we have preserved a distinct Virginia curing tradition known for its rich, savory character.
